The fixing device has a rectangular socket (11), cooperating with a trapezoidal opening (12) in the seatbelt loop (10), for allowing a relative pivot movement between the latter and the socket. The width of the socket corresponds to the shorter side (13) of the trapezoidal opening, the latter positioned so that one side arm of the opening rests against the socket in the rest position of the seatbelt loop and the other side arm of the opening rests against the socket in the operative position of the seatbelt loop.
