PURPOSE: A compactness measuring apparatus is provided to achieve improved accuracy in measurement and estimate the life and quality of degreasing roll in a uniform manner. CONSTITUTION: A compactness measuring apparatus comprises a guide(4) including a fixed measuring unit(5) and a movable measuring unit(6) installed beneath a guide(4), a scale ruler(12) and a handle(2) attached onto the guide, a slide block(15) arranged onto the guide and coupled to a cylinder clevis(7), and a block cylinder(3) for moving the cylinder clevis in forward and rearward directions; and a direction control button valve(8) connected to a supply line(9) penetrating through a side surface of the handle and an operating line(9-1) connected to the block cylinder, wherein the direction control button valve is installed to operate a push button(8-2). The movable measuring unit has a measuring guide(14) arranged in the moving direction. The handle has a one-touch nipple(11) formed at the outer periphery of the handle.
