APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ELIMINATING TOXIC SUBSTANCE FROM EXHAUST GAS OF DIESEL ENGINE BY USING PLASMA/CATALYST COMPOSITE CONTINUOUS REGENERATIVE SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for eliminating a toxic substance from exhaust gas by using a plasma/catalyst composite regenerative system are provided to easily eliminate a minute particulate substance and to improve the efficiency for processing the particulate substance. CONSTITUTION: A diesel oxidation catalyst unit is connected to an exhaust pipe in a diesel engine, and oxidizes NO gas in exhaust gas into NO2 gas. A plasma reactor collects a particulate substance in the exhaust gas passing the diesel oxidation catalyst unit by an electrostatic phenomenon, and reacts the particulate substance with the NO2 gas oxidized by the diesel oxidation catalyst unit. A nitrogen oxide eliminating catalyst unit reduces and eliminates a nitrogen oxide which is not processed in the plasma reactor.
