The invention relates to a method for installing software on a number of terminals (1), according to which the software (SW) is downloaded onto the relevant terminal (1) from a server (2) upon receipt of an installation request signal (IA) of a terminal (1) over a network. An individual timing mark (ZM>1<) assigned to the respective terminal (1) is stored in each of the terminals (1). Said timing mark specifies a time (t>3<) or a period at/during which the terminal (1) transmits an installation request signal (IA) to the server (2) over the network.
