Manufacture of metallic components from metallic powder involves using thermostable acrylic resin as binder

Metal components are manufactured by metal injection molding using metal or alloy powders or particles and thermostable acrylic resins as binder. The stages of the process are mixing, molding, hardening, elimination of binder, and sintering. The mixture process is effected at ambient temperature, and during molding the resin is hardened at moderate temperatures. Elimination of the binder is carried out in an atmosphere of argon and air, and sintering is effected in a reducing atmosphere (vacuum, hydrogen, or a mixture of nitrogen and hydrogen).
