PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that conventionally signals transmitting through optical fibers cause wavelength dispersion for the optical communication at a >=10 Gbps communication bit rate, particularly at >=40 Gbps, and this brings severe hindrance for the communication, and even though various kinds of methods or devices for the dispersion compensation are proposed, the losses due to connection increases when the communication band are widened. SOLUTION: An optical dispersion compensation device, having a wide-band width for dispersion compensation, is prepared and used for a composite type optical dispersion compensation device composed of a plurality of elements which can compensate the optical dispersion connected in series, so as to compensate the dispersion. Thus, the obtained composite optical dispersion compensation device realizes low loss over a wide-band. |
