PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmental information collecting system which makes it possible to easily and efficiently research environment without knowing the site and speedily answer the research result to users of environmental information. SOLUTION: This system comprises a portable environmental information collecting terminal 20 for collecting the environmental information, an environmental information database device 8 which collects and stores the environmental information from the terminal 20, and an environmental information public opening device 25 which opens the stored information to the public. The terminal 20 has a position information acquiring device 21, collects the environmental information inputted from an environmental information sensor 22, etc., while adding position information thereto, and sends them to the database device 8 by a radio communication means 23 through an information communication network 11. The database device 8 unifies and stores the environmental information linked to the position information to increase the efficiency of the environment research. The environmental information public opening device 25 requests the database device 8 to retrieve environmental information at a request made by an environmental information user 18 and enables the retrieval result to speedily be browsed at any time.
