PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data communication system which can perform precise data communication even in an environment where the S/N ratio is smaller. SOLUTION: This data communication system includes a data transmitting device 1 which performs amplitude modulation based on transmission data and outputs a signal from a portion brought into contact with a human body 3 or positioned in the vicinity of the human body 3, and a data receiving device 2 having a signal processing unit 13 which extracts ac components after the signal outputted from the data transmitting device 1 via the human body 3 and processes the signal read by a signal read unit 12. The signal processing unit 13 includes a data restoring unit 14, which stores M pieces of data when M is a natural number and has a function for correcting defects in the signal data processed in the signal read unit 12 by determining the signal level of the Mth data based on the number of occurrences of high-level signals among the M pieces of data.
