PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of magnetizing a rare-earth magnet by which a plurality of rare-earth magnets fixed to a rotor can be magnetized strongly. SOLUTION: The method for magnetizing the rare-earth magnets 22 fixed to the rotor 20 includes a first step of successively performing first magnetization on the magnets 22 with a relatively weak first magnetic field and a second step of performing second magnetization on the magnets 22 with a second magnetic field which is oriented in the same direction as that of and stronger than the magnetic field used in the first step.
