PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To check the number of reading of a plurality of machines from an external information processing terminal. SOLUTION: In a PC 20, the number and condition of reading of facsimile equipment is operated to input (ST1), and transmitted to facsimile equipment (ST2, ST3). A read result state message is received (ST4). When the reading of the set number of messages is completed, and any unread original is present (ST5), the set number and completed number of reading is displayed, and the presence of any unread original is displayed (ST6). Then, whether or not the transfer of the already read picture data is accepted is icon-selected (ST9).
