DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DISCRIMINATING KEY BLANK FROM MASTER KEY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for discriminating a key blank corresponding to one master key. SOLUTION: This device has a first luminous surface 24 and a second luminous surface 26. The second luminous surface 26 is disposed on the opposite side to the first luminous surface 24 so as to be able to dispose the master key in between. The first and second luminous surfaces can be operated to generate the image of the master key. A receiver 28 is provided for capturing the image of the master key. The device is also provided with a control device having a storage device for storing information on a plurality of key blanks, and the control device can be operated to discriminate the key blank corresponding to the master key on the basis of the captured image of the receiver 28.
