The device has helical spring (11) with axis placed in a brake box and has inwardly curved ends. When a motor (27) drives a gear wheel (22), the fingers (15a,15b) abut on a pair of ends of the spring to compress the spring axially so that the spring rotates at the same time as the wheel. When a cable winding drum (4) rotates, provokes axial extension of the spring to contact with the brake box which prevents rotation of the wheel. An Independent claim is included for window assembly.
