PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical filter which selectively cuts off IR and light of wavelengths so as to lower color purity and is free of malfunction and excellent in color balance. SOLUTION: In an optical filter with a filter layer disposed on a transparent substrate, a binder and an oxadibenzofurancyanine dye are added to the filter layer.
