PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make generable an effect and use value (make operation easy to understand and a printing error hard to occur, and reduce fatigue) by a combination of articles (display character and symbol) based principally on Roman character input. SOLUTION: The articles (display character and symbol of keyboard keys) based principally on the Roman character input are combined and characters and symbols of low use frequency, e.g. characters and symbols used for KANA (Japanese syllabary) input are not displayed. Visual emphasis (mentioned below), Japanese display (for Japanese use), and illustration are provided so as to make, for example, English letters and symbols which are essential to the Roman character input easy to understand. For that end a function of converting display characters and symbols of keys by a backlighting method is added to a keyboard main body or its cover which is usually transparent is given a print to make the Roman character input easy.
