PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a changing mechanism for a transmission providing construction permitting a position lever to be installed in a smaller space while reducing the numbers of part items and assembling man-hours. SOLUTION: The change mechanism comprises a change cam 7 to be integrally rotated with a change drum 13 for operating a shift fork for the transmitting, a change shaft 1 rotatably supported by a case 21 for the transmission, a change lever 2 fixed to the change shaft 1 and adapted to be turned in linkage with the operation of a change pedal 31 for intermittently turning the change cam 7, a stopper member 37 fixed to the case 21 for restricting the turning range of the change lever 2, and the position level 9 to be turned by receiving spring force for engaging the change cam 7 and holding the change cam 7 at a predetermined rotational position. The position lever 9 is turnably supported by the stopper member 37 or the change shaft 1.
