PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a setting method in which various setting operations can be simplified when a contract is concluded with a desired ISP by an online signup, in which an application program for each ISP is not required and in which the waste of the stream capacity of a user's terminal device can be eliminated. SOLUTION: An item which is required for the registration of each previously contracted ISP and data on a registration service charge are stored in a setting database 14 at a setting server 2. The terminal device 1 can be connected to the setting server 2 via a telephone line 4. When the terminal device 1 is connected to the setting server 2 via the telephone line 4, selection information on a plurality of previously connected ISPs is sent to the terminal device 1 from the setting server 2. When the desired ISP is selected from among the ISPs, an input item required for the contract of the ISP is sent to the terminal device 1 from the setting server 2. When the information is input to the input item, the contract can be concluded with the ISP in an online manner. |
