PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device and method, that can enhance the operability of white board function and operate different equipment on the same menu in addition in a unified way, and to provide an information processing unit having the image display device, and a storage medium. SOLUTION: The image display device 202 has a white board function drawing section 217, that uses a control signal from a control input means 203 to draw an image and a memory section 218 for the white board function drawing section 217, in addition to an input system image signal processing section 209 that receives an image signal. An image processing section 217 allows a control changeover section 216 to select the control signal from the control input means 203 for image drawing by the white board function or for a control signal of a PC 201, according to an instruction of the control input means 203 that has the function of switching the received image signal or a drawn image by the white board function or of displaying the composited signals, in a way such that the same control input means 203 can conduct the operations for the function on the PC 210 and the white board function in an image display device 202 on the same image screen.
