PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-channel broadcast receiver that provides information, related to the presence of non-contract channels to a user for enhancing the service, with respect to provision of broadcast programs. SOLUTION: The multi-channel broadcast receiver 10 discriminates whether a decoding means 19 can receive a channel selected by a broadcast selection means CN, on the basis of an ID code (18) and allows a display means 23 to display it that the selected channel is a non-contract channel under the control of a control means 11, when the result of discrimination indicates that the broadcast program of the selected channel cannot be received.
