PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a storage medium that a system is automatically started by inserting the storage medium, and various pieces of service information can quickly be purchased through a network and it has an electronic circuit for preventing the storage medium from being illegally used and to provide an information managing method and an information processing system using the storage medium. SOLUTION: In this information managing method in an information processing system including a network capable of quickly handling a large quantity of service information such as an image, music, sound, document and program, incomplete service information that can be only reproduced is stored with a lock key for locking added, on a disk having a storing part including at least an information storage region for storing information and an electronic circuit part on which the electronic circuit for processing the information is mounted, and the storage medium is connected to a device located on the network. When it is confirmed that the service information stored in the storage medium is purchased, supplement information for reproducing completely the service information is received to be combined in accordance with the lock key by the cooperation of the device and the electronic circuit, and the service information is restored. |
