PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently detect a holding position of a printed circuit board in an electric component mounting system for mounting an electric component on the board. SOLUTION: A method for detecting a position of the printed circuit board comprises the steps of fixing an imaging unit 140 together with a backup pin 138 to a circuit board holding unit 132 for holding the board 20 to be mounted with the electric component at present, imaging a fiducial mark provided on a rear surface 270 of the board by the imaging unit, and detecting the holding position of the board. In this case, the detection of the holding position is executed during a period of relatively moving an attracting head 18 and the board holding unit, and hence a decrease in the working efficiency is avoided. |
