PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network authentication system which enables anybody to perform authentication by simplifying the procedure of an authentication system on the Internet. SOLUTION: A desired site 5 is visited by operating a personal computer 7 and on the site 5 (or in a homepage), information (ID, password for admission, etc.), is retrieved and selected. Further, the mail address of i-Mode, etc., that a portable terminal 10 has is inputted, authentication mail with a password (including a key, etc.), for registration completion is sent from the site 5 to the mail address of the portable telephone terminal 10, and the sent password (including the key, etc.), for registration completion is inputted on the site 5 to perform registration and authentication.
