<p>A conventional illumination optical unit has a drawback that unevenness of brightness appears in the inclining direction when an area inclining with respect to the optical axis is illuminated. The inventive illumination optical unit comprises a pre- illumination optical unit (7) comprising a lamp (1), an ellipsoidal mirror (2), a UV-IR cut filter (3), a condensing lens (4), a first lens (5) and a second lens (6), a decentered lens (9), and a relay lens (11). The relay lens (11) has second and third substantially conjugated emission faces (10, 12) arranged to incline with respect to an optical axis (15). The decentered lens (9) is decentered appropriately to an optical axis (14) so that an outgoing light from the second lens (6) impinges effectively on the relay lens (11) and the second emission face (12) is imparted with an inclination in the direction for canceling an inclination of brightness generated by the relay lens (11).</p> |
