HIGHLY DURABLE FLAME RETARDANT CYANATE RESIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both an environmentally friendly type cyanate compound which is a highly durable substrate material with a slight change in electrical reliability even under severe service conditions and achieving flame retardance without any halogen and a composition thereof. SOLUTION: This cyanate resin is represented by the following general formula 1 (R1 and R2 are each any of the same or different hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group; x is an integer of 0-3; y is an integer of 0-5; Ar is an aromatic group such as phenylene or biphenylene; and n and m denote each the same or different natural number). The composition uses the cyanate resin.
