PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for managing the update of a catalog (38) based on a reference electronic catalog (30). SOLUTION: A reference catalog is provided with a reference format and plural items (32, 34, and 36) respectively related with characteristics, and a second catalog is provided with a second format and plural items (40, 42, and 44) respectively related with characteristics. The reference catalog is maintenance-managed by the update and revision of the items and the related characteristics (54), and the second catalog is maintenance-managed by repeating the mapping of at least a part of the reference catalog to the second catalog after the maintenance management of the reference catalog (62). It is desired that the second catalog is maintenance-managed by recording the maintenance management time of the both catalogs, and comparing those recorded times (58) with each other, and mapping only the maintenance-managed part of the reference catalog to the second catalog. |
