PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device for allowing a user to confirm sheet information in a paper feeding part at a glance when performing printing processing and a method for controlling the printing device and a recording medium with the program recorded. SOLUTION: A sheet information detecting means 11 detects sheet information, and a sheet information display means 12 displays the detected sheet information. Moreover, when a first number of sheet determination means 13 determines that sheets are not enough to perform printing processing, a sheet supply request display means 14 urges a paper feeding part 21 to replenish printing sheets. Also, when a sheet presence/absence determination means 15 determines that any sheet in a prescribed sheet size is not present in the paper feeding part 21, an other device printing encouraging means 16 encourages printing in another device. Also, when this printing device is connected to a network, an other device sheet information detecting means 17 detects the sheet information of the other device connected to the network, and an other device sheet information display mean 18 displays the detected sheet information. |
