METHOD FOR RECOVERING DISK FAILURE OF DISK ARRAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk failure recovering method capable of suppressing the deterioration of normal access performance in parity reconstruction after disk exchange in a disk array doubly operating for acquiring a snap shot. SOLUTION: Parity reconstruction to be performed in recovering a faulty disk is executed by data copy from a disk which is present at the same position in a mirror constitution for a snap shot instead of parity preparation using parity redundancy. The data from one disk are read despite of the n of nD+1P so that it is possible to suppress the deterioration of normal access performance during the parity reconstruction.
