PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design support system, with which the target of reference can be easily specified, efficiency in design is improved and convenience can be improved, in the design support system capable of referring to graphic element data contained in another design file. SOLUTION: In this design support system, when the element ID of graphic element data, which become the target of reference, is changed or lost, a CPU 11 retrieves a name applied to the graphic element data by a designer, graphic element data themselves or coincident or highly similar work instruction data and specifies the graphic element data, which become the target of reference.
