The storage unit (1) has an electronic memory (3). This is for entry, storage and administration using identification data (34) relating to each rubber cylinder casing (2) used in offset printing. During introduction of the casing, the data is read-in. Subsequently, the casing can be removed using the given data. An Independent claim is included for the corresponding method of storage.
