PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the overall length of a centrifugal governor where a fuel injection pump and a governor spring device are combined together by approaching a speed regulating lever to a fuel injection pump. SOLUTION: A compression coil spring 7 for a low speed is received by a governor lever 3 on the opposite side to a speed regulating lever 6. A tensile coil spring 8 for low, medium and high speeds is positioned across a portion extending between the tip part of the compression coil spring 7 for a low speed and the speed regulating lever 6. A tensile coil spring 9 is positioned across a portion extending between the governor lever 3 and the speed regulation lever 6. A lock part 9a of the end part of a tensile coil spring 9 for a high speed is engaged in a loosely movable state in a specified range with an oblong hole 11 for looseness formed in the governor lever 3.
