PURPOSE: A video camera having a device for preventing a mirror from shaking is provided to lock the mirror when a hand shaking compensator is not operated so that noise due to shaking of the mirror is not generated. CONSTITUTION: A video camera is composed of a lens, a mirror(22), an imaging device, a sensor, a mirror driver, a device for preventing the mirror from shaking, and a position sensor. The lens focuses lights radiated from an object and the mirror reflects the lights. The imaging device records the reflected lights as video information. The sensor senses shaking of the mirror when the object is photographed. The mirror driver drives the mirror to correct the shaking of the mirror. The device for preventing the mirror from shaking includes a housing(50), a pair of magnets(52,54) respectively fixed to the mirror and the housing, a locking member(58) movably placed between the magnets, and a magnetic force generator for generating magnetic force to selectively contact the locking member to the mirror. The device locks the mirror when the mirror driver is not operated. The position sensor senses the position of the locking member.
