PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in the appearance inspection of a ferrule with the combination of a subject microscope with an epi-illumination light source, that an appearance failure can be detected only when they are set to a specified angle and specified rotating angle range. SOLUTION: This device for inspecting the appearance of an optical fiber ferrule by emitting a light thereto comprises a telecentric lens connected to an image analyzer, a ring light source arranged coaxially with the telecentric lens, the epi-illumination light source, and a plurality of single directive light sources.
