PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens controller capable of improving operability so that respective lenses can be completely independently controlled by detecting the manipulated variable of a focus ring by an encoder and displacing the position of a lens selected as a target to be controlled on the variation of the focus ring as to the lens controller capable of selecting the control of the focus lens or that of a master lens and controlling the selected lens by operating the focus ring of a focus controller. SOLUTION: The control of the focus lens F or that of the master lens M can be selected by a focus/master changing switch 86 in the focus controller 28. When the focus ring 28A is rotated, the number of pulses outputted from the encoder 82 is applied to a CPU 50 in a lens device 12 as a manipulated variable and the CPU 50 detects the variation of the manipulated variable and displaces the position of the lens selected as the target to be controlled.
