PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal joint securing smooth relative sliding motion between sliding members when declination is accommodated, reducing the number of components, and enabling an improvement in the constant velocity properties of a drive shaft and a driven shaft. SOLUTION: The universal joint is provided with the first hub 10, the second hub 20, a piece 30 disposed between the hubs 10 and 20, and the first yokes 40 and 41 and the second yokes 50 and 51, which are protrusively installed in the hubs 10 and 20. The first yokes 40 and 41 are elongated from the diametral-direction opposed sides of the first hub 10 in the axial direction of the first hub 10, and the second yoke 50 and 51 are elongated from the diametral-direction opposed sides of the second hub 20 in the axial direction of the first hub 20. The first paired pins 60 and 61 and the second paired pins 70 and 71 orthogonal to the pins 60 and 61, which are mounted on the piece 30, are installed on one plane in such a manner as to protrude from the outer peripheral surface of the piece 30 outward in a radial direction. The pins 60, 61, 70 and 71 are made rotatable on an axial center and slidable in the axial directions of the pins 60, 61, 70 and 71. The pins 60, 61, 70 and 71 are formed with through holes 60a, 61a, 70a and 71a, and the yokes 40, 41, 50 and 51 are installed so as to be slidable within the through holes 60a, 61a, 70a and 71a.
