PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method of on-demand type multi-nozzle ink jet head in which an ink weight of 70 ng or above can be attained stably without generating a nonejection nozzle due to the influence of inter-array vibration even when a matrix type head having three arrays or more of nozzle is employed. SOLUTION: An on-demand type multi-nozzle ink jet head is driven while setting the orifice diameter at 35-45μm, the volume of a pressurization chamber at 0.056 mm3 or above, the width of unit pulse at 6-11μs, and the pause time of unit pulse at 4μs or less when single ejection is carried out by repeating two unit pulses.
