PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical secondary battery wherein there is no fear of damaging an electrode and a separator when a current collecting plate 5 is welded to an end face of the wound electrode body 4, a manufacturing process is simple, and a superior output characteristic is exerted in a tabless type cylindrical secondary battery in which a wound electrode body 4 is housed inside of a battery can. SOLUTION: In the cylindrical secondary battery, a coating part A in which an active substance is coated and a non-coating part B in which the active substance is not coated are respectively formed at both electrodes of a positive electrode and a negative electrode 41, 43, the metal-made current collecting body 5 is covered on each of cylindrical projections 40 of the wound electrode body 4, and the current collecting body 5 is equipped with a ceiling plate part 51 contacted with the end face of the cylindrical projection 40 and a skirt part 52 contacted with an outer peripheral face of the cylindrical projection 40. |
