PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous detection due to a virtical image appearing on a background image, when an infiltrating object is stopped in the conventional background image updating process, carried out on the basis of weighted average computing of an inputted image for detecting an invading object. SOLUTION: For preventing the appearance of the virtical image, which is formed by updating of the background image and causes error detection of the object to be detected on the background image, updating of the background image is stopped in an existence area of the detected object and an area around the object receiving influence of a brightness value change of the inputted image, that is, the influence of random noise, while updating is carried out in the area where the object does not exist. In this way, misdetections can be reduced. |
