<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reclaim a lead-acid battery by using auxiliary liquid for making an electrolyte acidic and a direct current protecting circuit device having an excessive current preventing means. SOLUTION: An insulating coat produced on the electrode of a lead-acid battery (secondary battery) is peeled off by making a heated and nucleate boiling condition on the surface of the insulating coat by a heavy current obtained by connecting the battery to a resistance load, after charging the battery by adding auxiliary liquid to make an electrolyte acidic to the electrode cell. The heavy current is supplied from a direct current source stored by being charged by the battery itself and is passed to the load, while being protected from an over-current by a current limiter. The current limiter may be obtained, by modifying a charger circuit or may be designed newly and made by assembling a thyristor, GTO and the like.</p> |
