PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of appropriately controlling the moving of a lens group even when erroneous detection is performed in the case of detecting the driving of a driving source. SOLUTION: This camera is provided with a motor 95 for moving the lens group of a photographing lens system, and a detector 226 outputting a pulse signal according as the motor 95 is rotated. Then, processing for moving the lens group is finished even though the pulse signal is outputted from the detector 226 when a fixed time elapses after starting the moving of the lens group after the motor 95 receives a control signal from a CPU 200 and drives the lens group, so that the lens group starts moving. Thus, even when the detector 226 performs the erroneous detection in the case of detecting the driving of the motor 95, the moving of the lens group is appropriately controlled.
