PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel which has a small risk for causing environmental pollution, a low cost and a high image quality. SOLUTION: In this plasma display panel, a resist layer 9 having sandblast resistance is formed based on a barrier rib pattern on the surface of a glass substrate 1 except for a low melting point glass, and then barrier ribs 2 are formed on the substrate 1 by grinding through jetting of a polishing material onto the substrate 1 coated with the resist layer 9. After that, powder of a low melting point metal such as tin or the like is blasted against the glass substrate 1 with high pressure gas, at that time a low melting point metal is melted by a generated heat when the high pressure gas hits the substrate 1 and makes a coating 50 on the substrate 1, and then heat-resisting metal coatings 52, 54 are formed on the coating 50, for instance by electroless plating.
