PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To timely discharge the residual water, etc., in steam heating equipment using steam as heating medium by appropriately operating the on/off valve of the equipment. SOLUTION: A steam source 11 is connected to the heating medium inlet 1a of the heat exchanger 1 of the steam heating equipment and a steam trap 12 and an automatic on/off valve 14 are connected to the heating medium outlet 1b of the heat exchanger 1. A temperature measuring means 15 which measures the temperature of a fluid discharged from the output 1b is provided and the opening/closing operation of the valve 14 is performed based on the measured results of the means 15. Consequently, the steam heating equipment can be operated stably with high energy efficiency without making useless steam discharge nor requiring temperature rising time, because the closing timing of the valve 14 can be controlled appropriately even when water discharging time becomes different due to an internal or external disturbance, such as the outdoor air condition, heat-exchanging condition, etc.
