PURPOSE: A composition for promoting hair growth and its preparation method are provided, which prevents epilation having the excellent hair growth effect. The composition is effective because it is composed of orient medicinal herbs and seaweeds, producing no side effects. The composition prevents excess activity of testosterone as well as eliminating deficiency of the nutrition for the hair metabolism and solves the blood circulation problem of the scalp. CONSTITUTION: The preparing method of the composition comprises the steps of: providing the first mixture of 0.1-10 dry wt.% of Ecklonia cava, 1-10 dry wt.% of polygonum multiflorum, 5-30 dry wt.% of dates, 10-30 dry wt.% of walnut, 10-30 dry wt.% of black sesame seed and 1-10 dry wt.% of Mori Semen; making the second mixture by adding to the above first mixture, 5-25wt.% of edible binder, 10-50wt.% of spirit and 2-10 times weight of water, in which the above one or more edible binders are selected from starch syrup, sugar, honey, agar, gelatin and starch; and boiling the above second mixture at 80-98deg.C in water for 2-10 hours and dehydrating to be 20-90%.
