PURPOSE: A tension control device for a belt of a compressor is provided to simplify the control of the tension of the belt by the position control of idler pulleys or the compressor without moving a bracket to which the idler pulleys are mounted, thereby smoothing the driving of a heat exchanger and prevent the noise and vibration of the compressor. CONSTITUTION: A tension control device for a belt of a compressor includes a control element mounted in a range of rotation of an electric belt(3) for controlling the tension of the belt instead of controlling a main pulley and a pulley(2) of the compressor(1), wherein the control element includes a lifting groove(7) formed at an upper part of a bracket(4) to be coupled with a control bolt(8) and connected to a boss(9) of an idler shaft(6), and a controller(10) mounted at a side of the boss with tension to move idler pulleys(5) in the axial direction, so that the tension of the belt is controllable by controlling vertical and horizontal positions of the idler pulleys.
