PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cutting a resin plate which has a mirror finished cut surface and is sufficiently used for a light transmission plate for a surface light source. SOLUTION: When the resin plate 1 for the light transmission plate used for the surface light source is cut, one side thereof is fixed by a fixing means along a cut line of the resin plate, and the other side is arranged in a bendable manner by a bending means. Line-like cutting blades 2a and 2b are arranged along the cut line from face and back sides of the resin plate. By applying the stress F1 to these cutting blades, the cutting blades are advanced to a predetermined depth A of the resin plate. The resin plate is cut by applying the bending stress F2 to the resin plate by the bending means with a blade tip as a fulcrum.
