PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel catalyst for steam-reforming methanol which is satisfactory in both catalytic activity and durability and to provide a method for efficiently producing hydrogen by using the same. SOLUTION: There are provided a catalyst for steam-reforming methanol which comprises copper, zinc, and palladium and/or platinum, has a copper/ palladium and/or platinum atomic ratio of 0.5-10 and a zinc/copper atomic ratio of 0.1-10 and a method for producing hydrogen which comprises steam- reforming methanol in the presence of the catalyst.
