PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light emitting diode which realizes a good light spread at a desired view angle and has a good color mixture property with a little luminance variation at every light emitting diode also in a indicating device, and a good productivity manufacture of the light emitting diode. SOLUTION: The light emitting diode has lead electrodes adjusted for mounting an LED chip so that the degree of gloss D defined by D=log (1/R) ranges from 0.05 to 0.3. In another embodiment, the surface of a partial region including a reflecting part is set for the same range of the degree of gloss D, thereby obtaining a light emitting diode which has a good light spread and is satisfactorily sealed with a mold member and mounted by soldering. |
