PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode for an alkaline secondary battery capable of reducing an internal short circuit occurrence rate of the alkaline secondary battery. SOLUTION: This positive electrode for an alkaline secondary battery comprises a conductive substrate 1 having a three-dimensional porous structure, a collector 3 fixed to an end of the conductive substrate 1, and a positive mixture 2 that is held in the conductive substrate 1 and contains an active material. At least one corner of at lest one of both ends P1 and P2 orthogonal to the end fixing the collector 3 is rounded.
