PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for a DC reactor which is inserted in a circuit rectifying a three-phase AC power source and smoothing it with a smoothing capacitor and is capable of suppressing a current peak and harmonics current on an AC power source side and a fluctuation in DC link voltage during a load fluctuation. SOLUTION: This DC reactor 103 is connected to the circuit rectifying the three-phase AC power source 101 with a rectifying circuit 102 and smoothing it with the smoothing capacitor 104. A main winding 103a and an auxiliary winding 103c are wound around the iron core of the DC reactor, and a compensatory voltage generating part controlled by the controller 404 consisting of a chopper circuit 401 or an inverter circuit 1001 and a DC voltage source is connected to the auxiliary winding 103c to generate and arbitrary voltage waveform on the auxiliary winding 103c, thus it is possible to compensate for a DC ripple, thereby suppressing the current peak or the like.
