PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for selecting an optimal component capable of quickly selecting a pulley optimal to a use condition by inputting a condition for using components and a recording medium. SOLUTION: This method for selecting an optimal component comprises a step for inputting a condition for using components, a step for selecting an optimal component according to the selection standard of a person who manufactures those components based on the condition inputted in the step for inputting the components, a step for calculating technical information data corresponding to the optimal component necessary for designing and assembling a product by using the optimal component, and a step for displaying the optimal component and the technical information data corresponding to the optimal component.
