摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of systematically arranging a group of shroud segments 56 to a series of sectors 1-36 of a turbine machine case 54 so that as many segments as possible are included within a predetermined grinding radius. SOLUTION: Major radial thicknesses related to respective segments selected from a group of segments 56 are assigned to sectors 1-36 of a case 54. Each thickness is compared to the minimum thickness requirement of a sector assigned thereto. A thickness value which does not satisfy the minimum thickness requirement of a sector assigned thereto is classified into a pool for available thickness values, and zero or more sectors are in an empty condition. Thereafter, the elements in the pool are systematically evaluated for suitability for the empty sectors and assigned to appropriate empty sectors.
