DETECTING DEVICE FOR AUTOMATIC DOOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detecting device for an automatic door which makes the wiring construction easier than conventional constitution and spoils the outward appearance of an opening part with less possibility. SOLUTION: A light projection part 11 and a photodetection part 12 are arranged integrally on an upper frame 20 arranged at the upper edge of the opening part 23 of a building. Reflectors 13a and 13b are fitted to left and right mullions surrounding the opening 23. A detection beam 14 projected downward by the light projection part 11 is deflected by 90 deg. through the reflector 13a, by 180 deg. through the reflector 13b, and by 90 deg. through the reflector 13a again to impinge on the photodetection part 12. A driving source which drives a door body to open and close it is controlled according to whether or not the photodetection part 12 photodetects the detection beam 14.
